The history of cinema knows a lot of incidents during the filming, which proves that the set is a place of high danger.
“Die Hard”
The director of the film, John McTiernan, sought to maximize the realism of what was happening on the set. Thus, he demanded that the prop guns specifically shot too loudly. In one scene, Bruce Willis shot holding the gun too close to his face. The realism cost Willis his hearing – his left ear is still not 100% audible. Friends claim that Willis often interrupts his interlocutors.
“Titanic”
The most spectacular movie of the ’90s could not do without incidents on the set. The complicated underwater filming, the huge crew. And on “Titanic” some of the crew got poisoned by… seafood soup. Had a staff gunsmith been present at the shooting, the tragedy could have been avoided. But it was spared. The actor was shot in the stomach, Brandon Lee died in hospital from massive blood loss. Filming was suspended. But after a while finished filming the tape. There were only four shooting days, the director decided to finish shooting. A real helicopter crashed on the set of this multi-part film, killing actor Vic Morrow and two children. For spectacle’s sake, director John Landis continued to radio the pilot to lower himself, even when it was no longer safe to do so. In addition, assistant producer George Folsey did not warn the fire marshal that the scene with the huge number of explosions will involve young children, and the shooting will take place at night. “Outcast”
