“We Have Issues”
May 11-15, 2016
DocuWest was founded in 2008 to explore and celebrate our world through the lens of documentary films. DocuWest’s mission is to curate and present to our audiences non-fiction stories that are entertaining, inspiring, astonishing, – even jarring, to spark a dialogue about the subjects presented in each film. The themes and works presented look to explore the world through the lens of documentary filmmakers from around the globe. Additionally, we strive to program a section of the festival that emphasizes the places, issues and people unique to the western territory of the United States.
DocuWest’s mission is to present our audiences with stories that are not only astonishing and jarring, but awe-inspiring and thought-provoking. These stories enable dialogue and discourse to take place over the people, events, and subjects presented in each film. DocuWest is located in the film-loving city of Denver, Colorado. Screenings take place in various locals including, the beautiful Sie FilmCenter in the Capital Hill area, and the History Colorado Museum in Denver – more venues to be announced. This relationship enables DocuWest to continue bringing audiences non-narrative films that empower us to take a look at ourselves and the world we live in.
Locations: Sie FilmCenter at 2510 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206, and the History Colorado Museum at 1200 Broadway Denver, CO 80203
